* Sri Lanka police seek candidates' help to arrest 185 individuals for violating election laws

Mar 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka Police Department have sought the help of candidates contesting the April 8 general election to arrest 185 persons allegedly involved in violating election laws.

Head of the Police Elections Desk, DIG Gamini Navaratne said they have received 201 complaints related to election violence and 128 suspects have already been arrested for violating the elections law.

According to the DIG, most of the reported incidents have been in relation to clashes between candidates from the same party and opposing parties on the tearing down of banners, cutouts, and posters.
