Mar 26, Colombo: Sri Lanka Police has offered Rs. 1 million cash reward for anyone who could give any information on the whereabouts of Danuna Tilakaratne, son-in-law of former Army Commander Retired General Sarath Fonseka.
The police had decided to offer the cash reward to locate Tilakaratne, as he has been evading arrest for over a month.
Police Spokesperson SP Prishantha Jayakody said the police were still searching for Tilakaratne and that despite the cash reward they were yet to receive any information.
The police have also launched a poster campaign to publicize the cash reward that is being offered.
The Colombo Fort Magistrate last week re-issued an arrest warrant for Tilakaratne, who as the president of Hicorp International and the British Borneo Defence, is accused of earning profits from arms procurement deals of the Army that were awarded to him by the former Army Commander General Fonseka during the war with the LTTE.
