Sri Lanka's Marxist politician questioned by CID about alleged conspiracy against government

Mar 24, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today (24) questioned the Marxist JVP politburo member Anura Kumara Dissanayake on the alleged conspiracy against the government.
Dissanayake who had arrived at the CID at 9 a.m. had been questioned for about one and a half hours on the alleged conspiracy and former Army Commander Retired General Sarath Fonseka's campaign at the last presidential election.
He had also been questioned about the role he and his party played in General Fonseka's presidential election campaign.
Dissanayake had informed the CID that there had not been any conspiracy against the government and any illegal activities that had taken place during General Fonseka's presidential election campaign.
Dissanayake was also summoned before the CID yesterday to record a statement on the funds received by General Fonseka during the election campaign.
