Sri Lankan court grants bail to grandmother of General Fonseka's son-in-law

Mar 19, Colombo: A Sri Lankan court today (19) granted bail to the grandmother of General Sarath Fonseka's son-in-law, Danuna Tilakaratne, who is absconding arrest.
The Colombo Fort Magistrate had released Danuna's grandmother on a cash bail of Rs. 3,000 when the CID presented her in court today after arresting her late last night.
The CID arrested Danuna's grandmother at midnight yesterday (18), on charges that she had provided accommodation to her grandson on or around February 17, when a warrant for his arrest had already been issued.
The Magistrate released her on Rs. 3,000 cash bail and two Rs. 25,000 each surety bonds.
Danuna Tilakaratne, who as the president of Hicorp International and the British Borneo Defence, is accused of earning profits from arms procurement deals of the Army that were awarded to him by the former Army Commander General Fonseka during the war with the LTTE.
