* President opens Sri Lanka Open University branch in Kalutara

Mar 17, Kalutara: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa declared opened the Kalutara branch of the Open University yesterday at Nagoda.

This two storied building constructed at a cost of Rs. 45 million under the Distance Education Modernization program is complete with an information centre, auditorium, class rooms and a Network Access Centre.

Ministers Rajitha Senarathna, Rohitha Abeygunawardana, and Prof. Wiswa Warnapala, Open University Vice Chancellor Prof. Upali Vidanapathirana and the university staff were present at the opening.
