Court of Appeal to hear General Fonseka's Habeas Corpus case on March 19

Mar 16, Colombo: The Court of Appeal is to take up the Habeas Corpus application filed by former Army Commander Retired General Sarath Fonseka's wife, Anoma Fonseka on March 19.
The case is to be heard by a three-judge bench.
Anoma Fonseka filed the Habeas Corpus application before the Court of Appeal requesting the Court to direct the Army Commander, Army Provost Marshal, and Navy Commander to produce General Fonseka to the Court to be dealt with according to law and to discharge him.
The application was filed through Paul Ratnayake Associates and Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Army Provost Marshall Brigadier E.K.J.K. Wijayasiri, Navy Commander Vice Admiral T.S.G. Samarasinghe, and the Attorney General have been cited as respondents.
It has been stated that General Fonseka was subject to the military law at the time he was taken into military custody.
