* Sri Lanka ruling party to campaign on Mahinda Chinthana policies at general election

Mar 13, Colombo: Sri Lanka's governing United People's Freedom Alliance General Secretary, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said the party would not present a new manifesto for the forthcoming general election.

Instead the as the party would continue campaigning with the Mahinda Chinthana Extended Vision policy statement released by President Mahinda Rajapaksa during the presidential election campaign.

"The government is dedicated to implementing the Mahinda Chinthana policies. Therefore there will not be any manifesto launched by the UPFA at the general election," he said.

According to Minister Premajayantha, the governing party would base its campaign on the Mahinda Chinthana policies.
