Opposition party manifesto to focus on vital sectors of Sri Lanka, UNP leader says

Mar 11, Colombo: Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (UNP) leader says that their manifesto for the April 8th General elections will focus specially on the education, healthcare, and unemployment.
Addressing the Addressing the UNP party Colombo District convention yesterday (10), UNP and Opposition leader Ranil Wickremasinghe said the manifesto is to focus on the most vital centers that the present government has neglected.
Wickremasinghe said that the education, health, and employment sectors which are considered to be of paramount importance in developed countries are in a dismal situation in this country.
The opposition leader said that his party is well-armed with solutions to all these problems as well as to address the government's fiscal mismanagement.
Outlining the programs ahead, Wickremasinghe said, the UNP, when comes to power will upgrade 500 schools to national level to enable students to go up to advanced level.
Wickremasinghe pledged to streamline the whole health system which is now in a mess. Supply of drugs, maintenance of medical, and hospital facilities for the public, and health care services will be maintained uninterruptedly. Efficiency and conscientiousness at all levels will be maintained, he promised.
University curriculum will be revised so that it will be job oriented and facilitate the graduates' employment upon completion of studies, he promised.
