Sri Lanka President says a promising country for future generations is his goal

Mar 11, Kelaniya: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today said that his primary goal is to bestow a promising country to the future generation that is equipped with the qualifications to compete in the international arena.
Addressing the staff and students of the Helena Wijewardena Girls School in Kelaniya this morning, the President said elders of this generation share the responsibility to generate a developed country for the youth.
The President toured the Kelaniya electorate today attending several functions. He took part in religious observances at the Sri Wishnu Devalaya in Bulugaha Junction and planted a Na sapling at the Kovil premises to mark the occasion. He spent some time cordially engaging with the devotees.
President Rajapaksa also paid homage to the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya and received blessings from the Ven. Dr.Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangarakkhitha Thera and Maha Sangha at the temple. He also visited the Peliyagoda Vidyalankara Pirivena.
President was accompanied by Minister Mervyn Silva, members of the Western Provincial Council and Kelaniya Pradeshiya Saba.
