Land data of Sri Lanka being computerized

Mar 09, Colombo: Sri Lanka Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) says that the first stage of the computerizing the data of the lands of the Western Province has been completed.
Accordingly, the software has been installed and data entry process has been commenced. The data regarding the lands in Kaduwela Divisional Secretary area of Colombo district are now being entered, says the ICTA.
The details pertaining to land ownership, usage and transfer of ownership will be computerized, ICTA said.
After the successful completion of data of the Western Province, the data of the other provinces will also be computerized.
ICTA Chief Operations Officer Roshan Devapura pointed out that digitalizing land data in this way would be useful, especially in allocating state land for development and other work.
