Sri Lanka Army sets up office in Jaffna to address public concerns

Mar 09, Jaffna: Sri Lanka Army, in a move to expand the relations between the security forces and the people of Jaffna, will set up a civil coordinating and public relation office in Jaffna today.
According to the Commander of Jaffna Security Forces Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe the new office will be established following a directive from the Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya.
The establishment is expected to help to provide speedy solutions for the problems faced by people in the peninsula. The public can also meet the Commander of Jaffna Security Forces at the office to discuss their grievances.
The measure, aimed at bringing back the normalcy to the lives of the people in the peninsula, is a part of the government's reconciliation process.
