Printing ballot papers for Sri Lanka election on schedule

Mar 08, Colombo: Printing ballot papers for the upcoming general elections in Sri Lanka is on schedule, the Government Printer said.
The Government Printer Lakshman Gunawardena said the printing of ballot papers of the general election to be held on the 8th of April is progressing to be delivered on schedule.
Reportedly special measures have been taken to print the lengthy ballots papers for some districts with Digamadulla District recording the longest ballot paper in the history of Sri Lankan Elections.
Media reports say the ballot paper for the Digamadulla District would be 4 feet in length carrying the names and details of candidates from 18 political parties and 48 independent groups.
Meanwhile, the handing over of postal ballots to the postal authorities is scheduled to commence on the 17th of this month.
Postal voting will be conducted on March 25th and 26th. The Handing over of official poll cards to the mail will start on March 22nd.
