Mar 07, Colombo: Sri Lanka opposition United National Party barred provincial reporters of the state-owned radio, Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporations said today.
The SLBC quoting one of its provincial correspondents said the party officials did not allow the SLBC reporters to cover the meeting between the Party Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe and general election candidate Wasantha Aluvihare yesterday.
Journalists, Priyantha Sumanasena, Siri Abeysiri and K.A. Thangaraja of SLBC were obstructed from covering the meeting, the SLBC said.
The common opposition alliance between the UNP and the Marxist Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna barred the state media during the presidential campaign accusing them of bias in reporting.
