Mar 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Criminal Investigations Division has summoned Colombo District candidate of the Democratic National Alliance (DNA), Captain Sanjeewa Kandanarachchi to record a statement.
A source from the DNA media unit said that Kandanarachchi was asked to be present at the CID today at 10 a.m. to record a statement. However, the CID had not informed Kandanarachchi of the specific reason to record a statement from him.
After retiring from the Sri Lanka Army, Kandanarachchi supported General Sarath Fonseka at the last Presidential election campaign when he contested under the New Democratic Front.
Following General Fonseka's decision to form a new alliance led by him with the Marxist Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, Kandanarachchi had extended his support to the newly formed DNA.
