Government to recruit 3,000 teachers

Jan 31, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Ministry of Education is to recruit 3,000 graduates as aesthetic teachers, a Ministry official said.
Secretary to the Education Ministry Nimal Bandara said the recruiting process that had been suspended due to the presidential election will be resumed soon to recruit 3,000 graduates as aesthetic teachers.
The Ministry is to call applications for the recruitment. In the event the number of applications exceeds 3,000, the Ministry will hold a competitive exam among the applicants.
Meanwhile, admissions for Year 1 in government schools will be conducted from next week, the official said.
