Swiss journalist's visa cancellation revoked on the order of President

Jan 31, Colombo: The cancellation of a Swiss radio correspondent's visa has been revoked and under a directive of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and she is allowed to stay, government sources said.
Karin Wenger, a Swiss radio correspondent based in New Delhi, India who was in the country to cover the presidential elections was earlier ordered to leave the country by February 1.
Ms, Wenger who has been in Sri Lanka to cover the presidential elections has said that immigration service had cancelled her accreditation, which was originally valid until February 17.
A spokesman for the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation said no reasons had been given for the expulsion but Wenger told the AFP news agency that she believes she is being expelled for asking inconvenient questions during a government press conference.
