Sri Lanka government to improve health facilities in rural areas

Jan 30, Colombo: Sri Lankan government is taking measures to improve the healthcare facilities in the rural areas of the country, the Health Ministry said.
Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said the government has set a priority to improve the health conditions of the villages and under the initiative the Ministry has made allocations to provide more ambulances to rural hospitals.
The Minister has recently provided new ambulances to 13 rural hospitals at a cost of 100 million rupees. Base Hospitals including Welimada, Kandaketiya, Etampitiya, Uva Paranagama, Pothupuitiya and Girandurukotte received the new ambulances that cost 7 million rupees each.
