President receives blessings from Maha Sangha at Sri Maha Bodhi

Jan 19, Anuradhapura: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa participated in a religious function of invoking blessings held in front of the most sacred Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura this morning (19th).
Over one thousand Buddhist monks chanted Seth Pirith for the victory of the President.
The President greeted a group of elderly women attending an alms giving on his way to Ruwanweli Maha Seya. A woman devotee held President's hands and blessed him saying "You are the Nobel man who saved our country."
Chief Incumbent of Atamasthana Dr. Pallegama Srinivasa Thera, Chief Incumbent of Ruwnaweli Maha Seya Pallegama Hemarathana Thera and the Governor of North Central Province Karunarathne Diulgane also participated.
