Feb 22, Colombo: The Election Secretariat of Sri Lanka has extended the deadline for accepting postal vote applications for the upcoming general elections.
The application period has been extended till midnight on the 26th of this month. The application process started on February 16th was to expire today midnight.
The deadline will not be further extended, the Election Secretariat cautioned. The deadline for internally displaced persons to apply for voter registration also has been extended till the 26th.
Around 300,000 public employees will be utilized in election duties.
The nominations for the General Election will be accepted from the 19th to the 26th of this month. Elections are scheduled to be held on 8th April.
