* Sri Lanka President meets Gazprom officials

Feb 09, Colombo: During his 3-day official visit to Moscow, Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa met with the CEO and other senior officials of the Russia's largest oil company, Gazprom on Monday (08) for discussions on oil exploration in the Mannar Basin off the northwest coast of Sri Lanka.

Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga, Ministers Rohitha Bogollagama, Prof G.L Peiris, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Foreign Affairs Secretary Romesh Wijesinghe, Ambassador Udayanga Weerathunge, Southern Province PC member and Coordinating Secretary to the President on international affairs Sajin Vas Gunawardena accompanied the President at the discussions.

Later, President and the First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa participated in a reception hosted by the Sri Lankan Ambassador Udayanga Weerathunge at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Moscow.
