Feb 08, Colombo: Several immediate changes have been made in the Sri Lanka police ranks including that of the police spokesman.
Former police spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) I.M. Karunaratne has been appointed as the Director of Recruitment while the former Director of Recruitment
Superintendent of Police (SP) Priyantha Jayakody has been appointed as the new media spokesman with immediate effect.
In addition, 99 other police officers with ranks ranging from Assistant Superintendent of Police to Senior DIG and 109 officers with ranks ranging from Sub Inspector to Chief Inspector had also been transferred with immediate effect, sources said.
