* Deyata Kirula Exhibition showcases development in Sri Lanka - President

Feb 05, Pallekale: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa Thursday declared open the Deyata Kirula, the educational and development exhibition, organized for the fourth time to coincide with the country's 62nd Independence Day at the International Buddhist Centre premises in Pallekale, Kandy.

Opening the mega exhibition that showcases products and services of over 1,000 government, private and international organizations, President Rajapaksa said the Deyata Kirula Exhibition shows the public the development activities in the country during the past 4 years.

The President said the exhibition displays the future development programs of the government.

The tri-forces, Army, Navy and Air Force along with the Police stalls displaying their military hardware and the services they offer.

The exhibition held this year for the first time in a location outside Colombo will be taken to other cities as well, he said.

President Rajapaksa was accompanied by the First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, President’s Secretary Lalith Weeratunga, Central province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayaka, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga Dela Bandara, Commanders of the tri-forces and the Police chief.

The exhibition is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight till the 10th of this month. Admission is free for school children and teachers. Others should purchase a lottery ticket for admission. Public can also purchase the products on display at concessionary prices.
