Sri Lanka President lays foundation for Buddhist Center

Feb 03, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today laid the foundation stone for the Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi International Buddhist Centre on Havelock Road at Nedimala, a suburb of capital Colombo.
When completed, the Center will house the world's largest collection of Buddhist publications and literature.
The complex with a 600-seat auditorium will function as a center to spread the Buddhist philosophy in the region and conduct dharma research activities.
A Korean Temple is also to be built at the International Buddhist Centre at a cost of 100 million rupees.
