Apr 25, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna today criticized the cabinet appointments saying that some ministries have been left without ministers and the process of appointing ministers will continue.
Addressing a media briefing General Secretary of JVP Tilvin Silva said the government has shown total incompetence and made blunders in making the ministerial appointments.
"There are no ministers for Mass Media and Information as well as for Livestock Development. On the one hand there are former ministers without portfolios, and while on the other, there are several ministries without anyone being named for them," he said.
Tilvin Silva said the process of appointing the ministers may not stop at 37. "It may go up to 40, even 50," he said.
Referring to the government's plan to present another vote-in-account for the last half of the year, the JVP secretary said it shows that the government has no plans and it can't build the economy. The government will burden the people with more taxes and cutting concessions, he warned.
