Apr 20, Colombo: Acting Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Parliament Dhammika Kithulegoda has in-writing informed Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to make the necessary arrangements for Democratic National Alliance (DNA) Leader and former Army Commander Retired General Sarath Fonseka to attend the inaugural session of Parliament on Thursday (22).
General Fonseka is currently under military custody facing two military tribunals.
However, Kithulegoda in a letter addressed to the Defence Secretary had reportedly accepted that General Fonseka can attend the inaugural session of Parliament on Thursday as a newly elected member of parliament at the April 8 general election.
Kithulegoda had written to the Defence Secretary in response to a request made by DNA Secretary and newly elected parliamentarian Vijitha Herath.
