Apr 07, Colombo: Leader of Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party, Ranil Wickremasinghe today urged the Sri Lankan voters to exercise their precious right of franchise tomorrow without yielding to undue pressures to bring about changes in the country.
He said his party is always clear with its programs, plans, and promises and requested a mandate to implement his two-year comprehensive plan. The people can enjoy the benefits of his plan in the next three years, he said.
The opposition leader criticizing the President Mahinda Rajapaksa's Mahinda Chinthana program said the government has failed to fulfill all the promises given during the elected period and now is begging for a two-thirds majority.
Therefore, he asked the public to follow their conscience and cast their votes wisely. "Above all, please ensure that you do not miss out on the vote," he urged the people.
