Apr 03, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Marxist JVP led Democratic National Alliance (DNA) has questioned the government if there are moves to target former Army Commander Retired General Sarath Fonseka's wife, based on a statement made by a government Minister.
The DNA in a press statement has recalled that Minister Dullas Alahaperuma, at a recent press briefing, had said that Anoma should take care of her own security instead of being concerned about her husband.
According to the DNA, the statement by the Minister has created suspicion of a conspiracy by the government against the opposition and possible attempts to target Mrs. Fonseka.
Meanwhile, addressing a DNA election rally in Matale, Anoma said the government was facing difficulties in trying to frame charges against General Fonseka.
"The inability to frame charges against my husband who is unlawfully incarcerated has caused confusion in government circles," Anoma has said.
