* Deputy Minister's son surrenders to Sri Lanka police

Sept 29, Colombo: Rasika Ekanayaka, the son of the Deputy Minister of Highways and the ruling party Pradeshiya Sabha Member, W.B. Ekanayaka has surrendered to the Anuradhapura police this morning. He was produced in the courts this afternoon.

He was the main suspect of an assault case on a police constable who was on duty at the Deputy Minister's residence recently.

The Anuradhapura Magistrate Court earlier ordered the police to arrest the suspect before the 30th of September and produce him in the courts.

Another police constable who has supported the suspect to carry out this assault has already been remanded.
