Sept 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka government today closed all the IDP camps in Batticaloa District in the Eastern Province of the country.
The Ministry of Resettlement and Disaster Relief Services announced that they have taken this decision as they have completed resettlement process in the Batticaloa District.
The government has established 112 IDP camps in Batticaloa District during the final stage of war between the military and LTTE.
According to the government statistics nearly 150,000 internally displaced persons have been lodged in those camps during the war.
