* Domestic gas prices raised in Sri Lanka

Oct 31, Colombo: Sri Lanka Government today granted permission to increase the domestic gas prices with effect from midnight today.

Minister of Trade and Consumer Affairs Bandula Gunawardena said that only the Laugfs Gas Company has received the permission to increase the prices.

The Price of a Domestic Laugfs gas cylinder has been increased by Rs. 5 with effect from midnight today, Minister Bandula Gunawardena said.

Accordingly the revised price of a 12.5 Kg Laugfs cylinder is Rs. 1,481.

The price of Shell gas has not been revised although the Shell Gas Company had made an appeal for a price increase of Rs. 285.

Accordingly, the price of a domestic Shell gas cylinder will continue to remain at Rs. 1,550, the Minister said.
