Oct 30, Colombo: Two more drug bottles contaminated with foreign materials inside were found from two separate hospitals in Sri Lanka during the day today, health officials said.

According to the National Drug Authority these two drug bottles were found from Matale and Kurunegala hospitals this morning when they were ready to be administrated to patients.

Both bottles contained pieces of glass, the hospital directors said.

The Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry has asked the six Indian companies who supplied the contaminated vials of medicine to submit explanations within three days.

Meanwhile, Sri Lankan Health Ministry conducted a full scale investigation on today's discovery and other recent mishaps in the health sector such as the death of a child following the rubella vaccination. The initial report of the investigation has not been released yet.
