* Crisis in Sri Lankan health sector worsening

Oct 29,Colombo: Worsening the problems faced by the Sri Lankan Health officials, intrusive materials have been recovered from more medicine bottles in the country's government hospitals.

According to the doctors of Tangalle hospital in Southern Sri Lanka, three vials of vaccine containing pieces of glass have been found yesterday evening.

The vials have been handed over to the Hambanthota Medical Officer of Health for further investigation.

Earlier doctors at the Ratnapura, Embilipitiya, Elpitiya and Anuradhapura have also found several drug bottles with intrusive materials.

The Health Ministry has already begun a special investigation over the issue, but failed to see any progress yet.

Meanwhile the Health Minister, Nimal Siripala de Silva yesterday called for explanations from drug importers over the issue within three days.
