* Sri Lanka President arrives in Nepal

Oct 29, Kathmandu: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport of Nepal today for a two-day official visit to the country.

President and the First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa were welcomed by Ms. Sunetra Koirala, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal at the Airport.

President and his entourage received a warm welcome from the people of Nepal at Kathmandu. President Rajapaksa arrived in Kathmandu to complete his earlier visit to Nepal that was cut short by the terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore in March this year.

The President is to declare open a newly constructed Buddhist temple in Lumbini tomorrow. During the Lumbini visit President Rajapaksa also will worship the birthplace of Lord Buddhat, Government Information Department said.

In the evening President is expected to meet with his Nepali counterpart Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and other top political leaders.

Ministers Nimal Siripala De Silva, Rohitha Bogollagama, Mervyn Silva, Additional Secretary to the President Gamini Senerath, Southern PC member Sajin Vas Gunawardena also accompanied the President.
