Eastern Province Chief Minister's vehicle crashed, three killed

Oct 27, Colombo: A road accident involving the backup car of Eastern Province Chief Minister killed at least three people including two soldiers in the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday, the police said.
According to the police the backup car of the motorcade of Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan traveling at high speed ran off the road and hit a tree at Gokarella area in the northwestern district of Kurunegala just after midnight Monday.
The soldiers killed were traveling in the backup car. The Chief Minister was not hurt, the police said.
