Sri Lanka Navy rescues two fishing boats

Oct 26, Colombo: Sri Lanka Navy has rescued two stranded multi-day fishing boats in the Southern and Northern deep seas during the last twenty-four hours.
The Navy confirmed that two of its offshore petrol vessels Samudura and Sayurala had made the two rescue operations during their daily patrolling exercises yesterday.
Samudura vessel had rescued a fishing boat call "Nihari Duwa" with a crew of five 30 nautical miles east of Little Bases in the Eastern seas yesterday afternoon. The fishing vessel with a broken propeller has been towed to the Hambanthota fisheries harbor.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Navy's Sayurala has rescued fishing boat named "Amal 2" that was stranded with two Sri Lankan fishermen in the Northern seas 88 nautical miles north-east of Point Pedro.
All the rescued fishermen have been admitted to hospitals in respective areas.
