Oct 25, Colombo: Sri Lanka police have arrested several key LTTE cadres from various parts of the country during the last twenty four hours.
According to the police spokesman Senior Deputy Inspector General, Nimal Mediwaka a 21-year-old female said to be an active member of the LTTE has been arrested near the 5th mile post at Akkaraipaththu yesterday evening on information received from the public.
The Akkaraipaththu police confirmed that the suspect has been identified as Yal Nadde, a key member of the LTTE medical unit.
Meanwhile, the police arrested another two suspected LTTE members in Colombo yesterday evening.
The police have found some explosives in the possession of the two suspects arrested on information given by another LTTE suspect who is in police custody.
