Another contingent from Sri Lanka Army will leave for UN peacekeeping mission

Oct 22, Colombo: The eleventh contingent of Sri Lankan armed forces is to leave for peacekeeping activities in Haiti on November 08th, the Army said.
The passing-out parade of the contingent was held at Army cantonment in Panagoda yesterday. This time the contingent comprises all the three armed forces, Army, Navy, and the Air Force.
The contingent includes 7 officers and 101 other rankers from Sri Lanka Army while one officer and 45 other rankers are from Sri Lanka Navy. One officer and another 45 rankers from the Sri Lanka Air Force too will join this contingent.
They will take over the duties from the Vijayaba Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops currently performing duties in Haiti.
