Oct 21, Colombo: The Brigade commander of Sri Lanka Army 611 division in Vavuniya, Colonel D.A Palihakkara died in an accident in the pre dawn hours of today at Thorayaya in Kurunegala.
According to the police, the cab, Colonel Palihakkara was travelling in collided with a parked police truck at around 2:45 a.m. The injured have been admitted to the Kurunegala Hospital.
Colonel Palihakkara has succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His driver and two other soldiers who were travelling with him are under life threatening conditions.
