Oct 14, Colombo: At least 62 school children from Meerakerny Macan Markar Vidyalaya in Eravur, Eastern Sri Lanka have been admitted to the hospital this morning after consuming iron and vitamin tablets at school.
According to the hospital sources the tablets used by the school children have been distributed by Medical Officer of Health (MOH) office in the area.
MOH, Dr. M.H. Mohamed Thariq told the media that the main reason for this situation was that the children consumed the tablets on empty stomach without having breakfast.
After consuming the tablets most of the students have complained that they are suffering from severe headaches, vomiting and dizziness.
