Oct 07, Colombo: Just three days ahead of the upcoming Southern Provincial Council elections, unemployed graduates, demanding job opportunities, have staged a massive protest campaign in Sri Lanka capital this afternoon.
Reportedly more than 1,000 unemployed graduates took part in the protest campaign held in front of the Fort Railway Station in Colombo.
The protesters claimed that over 25,000 graduates are still without employment due to the government's failure to provide them employment as promised.
According to the protesters the current government has only managed to provide 5,000 job opportunities to the graduates since the President Mahinda Rajapaksa came into power.
The unemployed graduates demanded the government to take immediate steps to provide them job opportunities in near future.
