Oct 07, Colombo: An unidentified group early this morning has attacked the election propaganda office of former Deputy Inspector General of Police D. W. Prathapasignhe, who contests the upcoming Southern Provincial Council election in Matara.
Police confirmed that the office of former DIG, located in Kamburupitiya, Matara has been vandalized.
According to the sources, attackers have damaged several election posters and cutouts of the former DIG and a motorcycle in the premises.
Former DIG Prathapasinghe is contesting the upcoming SPC election under the ruling United Peoples Freedom Alliance from Matara District.
