Accepting postal vote applications for presidential polls commences in Sri Lanka

Nov 30, Colombo: Sri Lanka Election Secretariat today announced that it is ready to accept postal vote applications and the voters could now apply for postal voting at the presidential election.
Government servants scheduled for election duty, members of the armed forces and Police are eligible to apply for postal votes.
According to the Election Secretariat, voters lists will be displayed at all district secretariat offices in the country during office hours from December 2nd. An application for postal voting can be obtained from any office where the voter lists are diplayed.
The lists will also be on display at the Ministries of Public Administration, Education, Housing, Labour and also at Registrar General's, Civil Defence Departments, Postal, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Police Headquarters.
Applicants for registered postal voting in the Colombo District should submit their applications to the Deputy Elections Commissioner at the Colombo District election office.
Postal voters in Jaffna and Kilinochchi districts should submit their applications to the Returning Officer in Jaffna while the postal voters in Mullaitivu, Mannar, and Vavuniya should handover their applications to the Returning Officer in Vavuniya.
