* Sri Lanka's first Labour Museum to be opened for public soon

Nov 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka's first Labour Museum will be unveiled by President Mahinda Rajapaksa under the theme of Urumayaka Piya Satahan' (Footsteps of a Heritage) on December 01 at the Labour Secretariat, Narahenpita, the Ministry of Labour Relations and Manpower declared today.

The aim of setting up this new museum is to educate the public on the progress achieved by the Labour Department throughout its 87 years of its history.

The President will also lay foundation stone for the construction of a 30-storey Employees Provident Fund Building, `Mehewara Piyasa' at Narahenpita, sources added.
