Sri Lanka Examinations Department releases GCE A/L results

Nov 26, Colombo: The Department of Examinations released the results of the GCE Advanced Level Examination held in August-September 2009 today, Department sources said.
Schools Principals in the Colombo and Jayewardenepura educational zones could collect the results from the Examination Department. The results of the schools outside Colombo will be mailed, the examination officials said.
The results will also be available online after noon on the Department's website at www.doenets.lk.
Nipuna Randunu Samarasekera of Ananda College Colombo is the highest Average Z Score holder in the island with 3.343, at the Advance Level examinations this year.
Anton Johnirajah of Hartley College, Point Pedro received the second highest with an average Z score of 3.249 and in third place Giyantha Dinu Amaratunga of Ananda College scored 3.203.
About 126,000 students have qualified for university admission through this year's examination.
