* SAARC Science and Technology Ministers meet Sri Lanka President

Nov 24, Colombo: Science and Technology Ministers of SAARC countries called on the Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today at the Temple Trees.

The second meeting of Science and Technology Ministers of SAARC countries commenced yesterday at Hilton Hotel in Colombo and concluded today.

The meeting focused on the formulation of a science and technology strategy, promotion of regional and multilateral co-operation and sharing of information on national institutions among other goals.

The participants discussed sharing of standards and laboratory testing facilities, formulation of uniform product standards and certifications systems, mutual recognition of laboratory accreditation and harmonization of standards in conformity with the South Asian Regional Standards Organization (SARSO).
