* Sri Lanka government to take tough actions on plantation companies

Nov 22, Colombo: Sri Lanka government has decided to retake the undeveloped lands given to the plantation companies by the government for development.

The Land Minister Dr. Rajitha Senarathna said most of the plantation companies had not met their goals with the lands given to them for development during the last few years.

The Ministry has imposed several conditions on the plantation companies when the lands were handed over to these companies.

According to the Minister most of the companies have violated those conditions imposed by the government. The Ministry expects to implement several development plans for those lands after retaking the lands.
