He was released on a cash bail of Rs. 25,000 and three surety bails of Rs. 300,000 each by the Courts.
Nishantha Muthuhettigama was remanded by the Galle Magistrate courts for causing damages to the Southern Provincial Council properties during its inaugural session last month.
He was earlier remanded at the Galle prison, but later transferred to high security Welikada prison in Colombo.
Muthuhettigama participated in yesterday's Council meeting under tight guard of prison officials.
