Japan relaxes its travel advisory on Sri Lanka

Nov 20, Colombo: The Government of Japan has decided to relax its Travel Advice and Warning on Sri Lanka for Japanese citizens travelling to the Northern or Eastern region of the island.
The Japanese Embassy in Colombo issued a statement yesterday outlining the new advisory in a manner mentioned below.
To the Eastern Province: from a Level of "Recommendation to consider whether or not to travel" to a Level of "Travel caution" which advises Japanese nationals to stay alert to the security situation and take necessary precautions.
To the areas of the Northern Province referred below: from a level of "Recommendation to defer all travel" to a level of "Recommendation to consider whether or not to travel"
The areas of the Northern Province: Vavuniya City, Mannar City and stretch of A9 road between Irattaperiyakulam and Vavuniya, A14 road from Medawachchiya to Talaimannar, A30 road from Paraiyanlankulam to Vavuniya.
