Nov 19, Colombo: Nishantha Muthuhettigama, the remanded Southern Provincial Councilor participated in the Council meeting this morning under the tight guard of prison officials.
He was brought to the Southern Provincial Council building in Galle from Welikada prison by the prison officials.
Muthuhettigama did not disturb the council proceedings this time as he did in the inaugural Southern Provincial Council session last month.
Meanwhile, a motion filed by Muthuhettigama seeking bail was rejected by the Galle Magistrate Court this afternoon.
The lawyers had requested bail mentioning that the details produced by the police against the Muthuhettigama to the Courts were overstated.
But the Magistrate rejected the bail application and ordered to take up the case again tomorrow.
