Relief for flood affected persons in Sri Lanka capital

Nov 18, Colombo: Sri Lanka Government this evening granted relief to those affected by the floods in the Western Province resulted from the torrential rains lashed the area Tuesday night.
The Ministry of Disaster Relief Services said that nearly 3,250 families in Colombo and its suburbs have been affected by the floods last night.
A majority of the flood affected were from the Maligawaththa area of the Colombo city totaling of about 1,200 families.
The Ministry has already taken steps to provide relief for the families with the assistance of Divisional Secretaries.
Several areas of the Sri Lanka capital and its suburbs were flooded last night severely due to the torrential rains lashed with over 100 mm of rainfall.
